AC ADAPTER ISSUES AND PROBLEMS If you have no power after you receive your new ac adapter Check your dc jack to see if it moves. If it does it may be cracked. The dc jack is the part on the laptop the ac adapter plugs into. If you have to wiggle the ac adapter to get power then your dc jack may have a crack in it or it is worn out. If you see electrical arching when you plug in the ac adapter the dc jack it is cracked. If you have to hold the ac adapter in a certain spot to make the laptop power on then this a good sign of a dc jack problem. When you’re holding the ac adapter in a certain spot you’re reconnecting the damaged dc jack circuit and the laptop powers on. When you let go the laptop turns off. Please note in some cases a cracked or worn out dc jack will cause the laptop to pull more power than the ac adapter can handle. This is a short circuit. A short circuit will cause a new ac adapter to overheat and stop working due to the thermal fuse inside. The ac adapter will not turn on again. If you have tried a few ac adapters all ready and they all stopped working then more than likely. The problem is the laptop. You may have a jack or internal circuit problem. Stop use of the laptop and ac adapter. Have a technician inspect it. If the Laptop won’t charge the battery, but it does power on the laptop then the ac adapter is working correctly. The ac adapter does not charge the battery. Its only job is to supply power to the laptop. Usually it is the internal charging circuit in the laptop that has gone bad or the battery is at the end of its life span. · IF YOU NEED HELP PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US. · WE WILL NEED THE MANUFACTURER AND MODEL. · WE WILL ALSO NEED VOLTAGE, AMPS AND ANY PART NUMBERS OFF YOUR ORIGINAL AC ADAPTER AND LAPTOP LABEL
